National Issue Campaigns
Economic Opportunity Campaign: Campus Progress is working hard to advance bold policies that make education more affordable and accessible, health care equitable and available for all, and a just, clean energy future that creates jobs and healthier communities. These are our economic solutions: |
Funding our Future - Funding our Future is a Campus Progress blog to support our Economic Opportunity campaign. The blog focuses on the investments in our economy that ensure a progressive and just future for our generation. From the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 to the 2010 federal budget to bold legislation in education, health care, and clean energy, young people are working to make sure that our elected officials put their money where their mouth is and prioritize the issues that matter to us. Students over Banks- Campus Progress launched Students over Banks campaign in July, 2009 to advocate for a plan, originally put forward by President Obama, to cut wasteful subsidies to student loan companies and use the $87 billion in savings to make college more affordable and accessible as the first step toward making the US the most educated country in the world by 2020. Health Care - Campus Progress is representing the youth movement to demand bold change for our broken health care system. We engage young people on the issues of health care through updates on recent health care issues, promoting nationwide activism with our coalition partners Health Care for America NOW, and fighting for provisions in reform that will benefit young people in a coalition of over 20 youth organizations, the Y.I. Want Change coalition. Find out more about our health care campaign here.

Clean Energy Jobs - Through our work with the Energy Action Coalition, Campus Progress is one of the leading organizations working with young people calling for an end to the climate crisis by creating millions of clean energy jobs and eliminating handouts to polluters. We help young people on college campuses run campaigns to reduce their communities' carbon footprint and help them build relationships with their law-makers. By making their communities more sustainable, they are giving their legislators a concrete example of the benefits of working towards a cleaner economy. We also engage young people with national climate and energy updates. | |
