Tell Congress: Don’t Slash Pell Grants or Block Gainful Employment Rule

Conservative leaders in Congress have made it clear that they're standing against higher education. This year's proposed federal budget cuts the maximum Pell Grant award by 15 percent, or more than $845. This cut hits hard-working students when they need financial aid the most.
The House of Representatives has voted to block funding to implement the gainful employment regulation, instead further supporting the waste and abuse that happens in the worst of the for-profit education industry. Beginning as early as next week, senators will debate the passage of this year's budget, which includes massive cuts to the Pell Grant and a rule blocking accountability at for-profit colleges. Tell your senator to stand up for higher education.
