Josh Norek
Overseeing Voto Latino’s national media strategies and outreach initiatives, Josh Norek facilitates the non-profit / non-partisan organization’s bilingual voter registration efforts via partnerships with Apple/iTunes, Myspace, Univision, ClearChannel, SíTV, MTV Tr3s, as well as hundreds of individual media outlets. Co-founded in 2004 by the actress Rosario Dawson, Voto Latino works to promote an enfranchised America by leveraging celebrity voices, the latest technology and youth themselves to promote positive change. Voto Latino has registered more than 26,000 new voters since January 2008.
Norek is also VP of Nacional Records (Warner Music-distributed Latino youth culture label), where he oversees legal, marketing and licensing strategies for numerous platinum-selling artists. No stranger to bridging multiple youth cultures, Norek also does double-duties as the frontman/MC for Latino-Jewish urban collective Hip Hop Hoodíos, a critically-acclaimed musical group featuring members of several Grammy-winning acts including Ozomatli and Santana. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Southwestern Law School.
