Inspired by successful, youth-led campaigns at home and transformative movements abroad in countries like Mexico and Quebec, the 2012 National Student Power Convergence is a five-day gathering for young activists to come together to share ideas on major issues affecting our generation – from college affordability to youth unemployment, to advancing immigrant rights.

Speakers include journalist Naomi Klein; labor organizer Stephen Lerner; international student organizers from CLASSE (Quebec), Yo Soy 132 (Mexico), and the Puerto Rican student movement; and a musical performance from hip hop duo Rebel Diaz.

Advocacy Manager Eduardo Garcia will be participating on a panel that will look at how student movements can work with a racial justice lens that is inclusive to immigrants and students of color.

The Student Power Convergence will run from August 10, 2012 through August 14, 2012. Check out the website for more details.
