2011 Progressive Partners Retreat

The Progressive Partners Summit was held from November 4th to November 6th at the Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C. The Progressive Partners Program builds partnerships and aids youth-led and campus and community organizations on campaigns to create progressive change in their respective communities. In attendance were youths from seven community and campus organizations, focusing on LGBTQ rights and Immigration advocacy. The summit gave students the opportunity to participate in skill-building trainings, strategic planning sessions, and the chance to network with national grassroots leaders. Campus Progress Advocacy Associates, Eddie Garcia and Sam Menefee-Libey, led the trainings and worked with the summit attendees to develop new skills, while gaining a renewed energy to generate progressive change.
