FORMER PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON TO KEYNOTE
CAMPUS PROGRESS NATIONAL STUDENT CONFERENCE
Former President Bill Clinton will be the keynote speaker at the Center for American Progress’ first Campus Progress National Student Conference, July 13 at the Convention Center in Washington, DC.
The July 13 conference will gather more than 500 students from college and university campuses across the country for issue discussions, skills seminars, speeches, and networking opportunities.
Other confirmed speakers for the conference so far include: Paul Begala, commentator and political strategist; Donna Brazile, political strategist; Carol Browner, former administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency; Adonal Foyle, starting center, NBA Golden State Warriors, and founder, Democracy Matters; Thomas Frank, bestselling author of “What’s The Matter With Kansas?‿; Dee Dee Myers, former White House Press Secretary; John Passacantando, executive director, Greenpeace US; Susan Rice, former Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs; and Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of The Nation magazine.
Campus Progress, launched in February 2005, is a division of the Center for American Progress. Campus Progress seeks to strengthen progressive voices on campuses nationwide and empower new generations of leaders. In its first 3 months, Campus Progress has held more than 50 campus speaking events; funded and supported student newspapers on 14 campuses; published hundreds of articles and multimedia pieces by students, journalists, officeholders, activists, and artists at the CampusProgress.org website; and promoted student advocacy on issues from Social Security to academic freedom, national security to judicial nominations.
