Michael O’Leary

Michael O’Leary is a senior vice president and chief counsel for federal affairs and policy of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). Upon joining the MPAA, he brought more than 12 years of legislative, intellectual property and enforcement experience at the Department of Justice and on Capitol Hill. Most recently, O’Leary served at the U.S. Department of Justice as the deputy chief of Computer Crime and Intellectual Property where he prosecuted and supervised some of the most significant domestic and international criminal intellectual property cases ever undertaken by the Department. While at DOJ, he also worked in the Office of Legislative Affairs and as a special assistant U.S. Attorney to the District of Columbia. O’Leary also served five years in the U.S. Senate, both in the office of Senator Dennis DeConcini and as counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
