Michael Hoffman
Michael Hoffman was born in Allentown, PA and graduated from Emmaus High School in 1997. Two years after graduation in he joined the United States Marine Corps as an Artillery Man. He was stationed in North Carolina and Japan before being stop-lossed and sent to Kuwait in the winter of 2003 in preparation of the invasion of Iraq. Michael was part of the main invasion forcing entering Iraq in March and traveled as far south as Tikrit before returning to the US and being discharged in June of 2003. He then began speaking out personally against the war on Veteran’s Day of that same year and was one of the founding members of Iraq Veterans Against the War in July of 2004. Michael served as the organizations first National Coordinator and lead spokesman. During this time he travel the country speaking against the war and appeared in various news media outlets such as: Mother Jones, the O’Reilly Factor, the NY Times, Washington Post, and the Guardian. Michael is now a full time student at Muhlenberg College majoring in Political Science and Communications.
