The trailer for a new grassroots-funded documentary about the history of discrimination, including against LGBT Americans, is circulating around the Internet and nearing a million hits on YouTube. Called Second Class Citizens, the documentary maker is raising funding for the film through funding site Kickstarter. Check out the powerful trailer here:

The project's creator, Ryan James Yezak, set out to raise at least $50,000 to fund the film; as of Wednesday, donors had pledged more than $80,000. Yezak says he decided to make the documentary to highlight the injustices and discriminatory actions facing LGBT Americans on a daily basis.

He writes: "I am not a second class citizen. You are not a second class citizen. Right now, the laws in place (and lack thereof) say that we are. Let's change that."
