Thousands Write on Senators’ Facebook Walls Asking for Passage of the DREAM Act
Campus Progress launched the Face the Dream campaign on Tuesday, a three-day effort to target three key senators standing in the way of the Dream Act via Facebook. Since the kick-off, Dreamers from all over the country have generated over a thousand actions on Sen. Hagan and Sen. Mary Landrieu's walls. Today marks the third day of our campaign: it's time for Sen. Scott Brown from Massachusetts to face students. Young people know that if the Dream Act is ever going to pass, it's now or never.
Thanks to your hard work, as well as the work done by our coalition partners around the country, this important piece of legislation is finally making its way to the Senate floor. Earlier this week Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid [announced at a press conference] that a vote on the DREAM Act could come as early as next Tuesday.
As the midterm elections draw closer and the window to pass the DREAM Act this year closes, you have a final chance to ask three U.S. senators to stand up for the young people who have inspired us to act so many times before. Even if you haven't written on their walls already, call 1-888-254-5087 to let these senators know that they have to Face the DREAM.
