Rejoice: FDA Approves New Hangover Pill

A new FDA approved pill promises to cure the common hangover.
Good news for your morning-afters.
The Food and Drug Administration has approved a “hangover pill” strong enough to take on any college sponsored Four Loko-thon (unfortunately, the threat of mixing energy and alcohol came first, prompting a ban on the caffeinated malt beverage.)
The pills, called Blowfish and intended to be dissolved in water, are infused with 1,000 milligrams of aspirin, 120 milligrams of caffeine, and a “stomach soothing agent” and reportedly take effect in just 15 to 30 minutes.
Brenna Haysom, Blowfish’s creator, told the New York Daily News that a large coffee and an aspirin won’t do the trick—but her pill will.
“The magic of the effervescent tablet is that it hits your system much faster than getting a cup of coffee, taking an antacid and taking some aspirin separately,” she said.
This “magic” over-the-counter pill runs for $2.99 for a single dose or $11.99 for a six-pack—or about the same cost as a six-pack of beer from your local grocer.
Just missing the booze-laden holidays and post-finals partying, the Blowfish pills will hit Duane Reade stores sometime in January.
