More Good News for the Lame Duck Session
Today the Senate, in a vote of 71-26, voted to ratify the New START Treaty. It is significant to note that no less than a few weeks ago, the fate of the Treaty seemed uncertain, and today it passed with an overwhelming bipartisan vote. Young people seized the opportunity to become engaged on nuclear weapons issues during the fight to ratify New START. We are happy today to see that our leaders chose common sense over gambling with our national security and our future.
