Campus Progress Chapters
Along with our student representatives, Campus Progress chapters organize speaking events, engage in national issue campaigns, hold regular meetings to discuss issues and strategy, and create lasting connections on and between campuses. Our chapter program also helps foster individual and team leadership, by allowing students the freedom to shape their respective chapters to address conditions on their own campuses.
Campus Progress chapters hold regular meetings and events every semester. For tips and suggestions, check our chapter guidelines, event planning guide, and outreach guide.
Campus Progress is particularly interested, in this early stage, in developing chapters on campuses that lack a strong progressive community and/or are generally apathetic in nature, although we are glad to consider chapter applications from any U.S. campus.

The primary functions of chapters are to:
- Serve as a space for progressive students on campus to work on common projects and develop an overall progressive strategy
- Create meaningful discourse by hosting speaking events, film screenings, and debates on campus
- Provide a forum for progressive students to hone their organizing and activism skills by working on local issues and Campus Progress / Center for American Progress national issue campaigns
Advantages and perks of being a chapter:
- Support from staff for events, funding, and resources
- Regular campus visits from Campus Progress staff
Additionally, chapters are encouraged to foster relationships between community groups and campus progressives and increase awareness of Campus Progress’s web publication, publication grants, and other resources.
